Season Greetings
We hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit as it approaches very rapidly. As all know, we have been experiencing
an unusual amount of rain and unfortunately that has made for some wet and sloppy play lately. Kudos to Grant, Ryan and
the whole maintenance staff for doing everything possible to keep the course open and playable.
As we head into the new year, I wanted to take a minute and bring you up on some of the events we have going on. Some
are posted on the home page - but I will summarize and add...
Dec 16th at 6:00 pm the Bear Trail Golf Association will hold a meeting here at the pro shop.
President Tom Biller will have some things to discuss with the membership. We hope all will attend and show your support.
Dec 20th is our two man best ball pick your own partner game. Winners to receive cash and a spiral ham for the holidays.
Jan 1st 2010, we will be holding a pot luck luncheon. This event will include a 3 man blind draw best ball game.
Everyone is encouraged to call early and get a tee time we have blocked out. It doesn't matter who you play with as we will
pick the teams after play.
Late February we hope to host our second chili cook off. More info to come.
March 5th is tentatively scheduled as "member maintenance day". We are asking everyone to come out for a day of hard
work on the course before the spring season kicks off. We will have food and drinks and everyone that participates will
receive a complimentary free round.
Also in March we will begin a spring/summer golf league. This league will play on Thursday afternoons.
Times and format will be forthcoming.
May will bring our Member / Guest and June will once again be the Club Championship.
The first week in July will be our First Firecracker Classic on Saturday, July 3rd.
This will be a great tournament as well as a family fun day that will include music, food, games and will conclude with a
fireworks display that evening.
This event will be an all day event and we will be asking for members to participate as well as volunteer with other events
when they are not actually in a "participant role". We are in the planning stages of this event now. If you have ideas or
contacts for sponsorship, please let us know.
